From our PTA Presidents

Dear Springman and Attea Families,

 Springing Forward

In between making summer camp plans and prepping for the end of the school year - we hope you're also thinking about what you might want to do next year with the PTA?

We would love to hear from you about what you'd like to do.  If you haven't gotten involved with us before, it's a great way to get connected to the school, teachers and principals.  As our kids get older and we have fewer chances to get into the schools and meet teachers, the PTA is one of the best ways

to stay connected.  That connection is how the middle school PTA differs from the younger grades.

We are a vital source of information - at our meetings we try to have a guest speaker each month to share information with parents.  While we may ask for help with a project, most of our meetings are centered on sharing information that parents want.  To name a few this year, we've had a presentation by the GBS principal, representatives from the Village of Glenview on development in downtown Glenview, and GBS Parents Association board members providing informative content on the workings of their group.  We also had the timely topics of bus logistics and curriculum pathways. Lots of good information for those that attended.

As a result of your support for PTA fundraising initiatives, we committed to fund approximately $20,000 in programs and activities at Springman and Attea last year. If you are interested in being a part of this vital organization, please contact us at spatpta@gmail.com.

We have many open chair positions, including  President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Please consider joining this very important organization! Co-chairing with a friend is a great idea too.

We want to thank all of our volunteers and incoming 6th grade parents who came to Missy Amrol’s home for our Volunteer  Appreciation and Meet and Greet.  We hope you had a chance to meet us and talk with other members about the middle school PTA. Be on the lookout for our Volunteer Coffee in April.  Date and time will be announced soon!

Online registration for school and PTA will be open shortly.  We are working on streamling the process of PTA membership/registration. Stay tuned!

Our next meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 12th at Springman at 9:15am where Jenny Bergeron, the D34 Math Instructional Coach will update us on the current state of the math program and the placement process for the upcoming school year.  She will share the timeline D34 intends to follow as well as some small adjustments that have been made to the process. Our final meeting of the year is May 10th at Attea at 9:15am - Please join us!
