From our PTA Presidents

We are thrilled to be starting another year as your PTA co- presidents and on behalf of the Springman/Attea PTA we would like to welcome you to the 2015-16 school year! The PTA has been very busy this summer planning and refreshing the programs that will make this a fabulous year for your kids.

It is our mission to encourage and support our parents, teachers and students and there is no better way to do so, than to get involved in the PTA. So whether you chair a committee, hold a board position, or simply join the PTA, no effort is too small. As a result of last spring’s survey, the ONLY major fundraiser of the year is your CHOICE! We encourage you to participate in The Choice is Yours Fundraiser . Whether you choose to purchase Innisbrook or make a donation, your choice helps continue our legacy of enriched education.

We are always humbled and inspired by the many volunteers who offer their time and assistance to make our schools what they are today. We want thank Wendy Ban for all of her hard work in orchestrating the online school supply ordering. If you missed out on it this year be on the look out for information about it in May. A special thank you to Dina Silver for single-handedly orchestrating the welcoming of teachers and staff back by providing a breakfast during the first week of school.

Once again in October your PTA will be sponsoring a parent education opportunity titled Turning Points. If you have not witnessed this presentation, we strongly encourage you to do so. It presents valuable information for parents of tweens, as you navigate through this often times, challenging role of parenting.

Our first PTA meeting of the school year saw record attendance! We are in awe of those who make the extra effort to attend the meetings and provide their time, ideas, knowledge and skills to benefit our organization’s goals.  As a result, two committees are being formed to enhance our mission.  The first is a Transition Committee for 8th graders that will tackle relevant issues to assist in a smoother transition to high school. The second is in collaboration with Attea Principal, Mr. Mark Richter, to research and recommend a mascot for Attea.  If you are interested in either committee, please contact us at spatpta@gmail.com and let us know which committee interests you.

As always, we welcome your feedback so please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you and have a fabulous school year!
